American pitchman and advertiser Billy Mays has died at the age of 50. Mays was probably most known for his catch phrase ‘Billy Mays here’ and the pitching of the multipurpose cleaning product OxiClean.
Sunday morning, Billy was found unresponsive by his wife at their Tampa home. At 7:45AM, he was pronounced dead by a fire and rescue team. The police suspect no foul play, but there's a question of whether or not a rough landing the day before played a part. After the incident and before retiring to bed, Mays spoke of feeling ill.US Airways Flight 1241 touched down Saturday a little rough due to a tire blow-out. Mays reportedly said he was "hit in the head" during the incident.
Tampa Police say linking the two incidents would be 'pure speculation'. U.S. Airways has, however, agreed to cooperate fully with any investigation into the incident the FAA may launch. As the autopsy is performed, more information on the cause of death will be made available.
